These precision downthrust flat jaws have a serrated contact surface for extra gripping. Use Serrated Jaw Inserts either in pairs, or with another QIS jaw insert. QIS is our patented system of downthrust vise jaws, consisting of several different quick-change jaw inserts that mount on a single base jaw. Jaw inserts are held in place by a guide pin and two permanent magnets (V Jaw Inserts have a bottom groove instead of a guide pin for precise sideways location on the vise guideways). Jaw inserts can be changed in a few seconds. The base jaw and jaw inserts have a matching angle between them to provide downthrust action. This downthrust effect ensures that the workpiece is held firmly down against the vise to a precise zero point, providing extremely accurate height location.
